Migrations are often triggered by climate change, that is seeing many areas of the planet affected by sudden drought. This project has been designed to prevent the need to migrate, with a sustainable business model

About the project

Hydroponics food is a model developed by Bloom Project, with the objective to design a truly accessible system to produce healthy food, using 10 times less water than traditional agriculture.

The formula

WHAT IF you could fight drought and produce healthy food with 1/10 of water and a solar energy hydroponic system, employing women and people with disabilities?

Impact and Main Outcomes

Hydroponics Food found a way to build a hydroponics production system that is low-cost, functions with solar energy and is designed to employ people with disabilities thanks to their adjustable infrastructure. This model enables local communities to produce food to consume directly and sell on local markets, and it works for 10+ types of vegetables, making it highly adjustable to different local contexts and markets.
